Despite this, the railway struggled on, with a still impressive locomotive list of Black Fives 45407 44871 and 45428, A4 60019 'Bittern', N2 1744 and Home Stalwarts 'Schools' 39026 Repton and Standard 4 76079

August 2008 Once again a few days were spent in yorkshire this year, which included a couple of days on the NYMR. Locos running included the S15 825, Standard 4 75029 (formerly 'The Green Knight') Q6 63695, Schools class 30926 'Repton' and Pete Watermans tank 5224 (on loan at the NNR earlier in the year)

LNER Festival Friday 28th March - Sunday 30th March 2008 Utterly sublime. The only worthy description of this event, featuring the 3 working A4's (Bittern / Union of South Africa / Sir Nigel Gresley), B1 61264, Q6 63695 and J15 65462. The star billing though was undoubtably Green Arrow, now in the last month of it's boiler certificate. Watching it storm up the Esk Valley Sunday afternoon will stay with me for a very long time.

August 2007
Spent a few days on the Moors this year taking photos of various locos and operations, including LNER locos 60007, 61264, BR Standards 75029,80135 and Black 5 45212.
With Whitby services this year (Goathland - Whitby) there were many semingly complicated shunts throughout the day,
as well as the opportunity to see two steam locos passing smokebox - to smokebox
