North Norfolk Railway Photos 2010
Saturday 26th June, Sunday 4th July, Saturday 10th July Three brief updates here. Firstly a Murder Mystery service featuring Ring Haw on a beautiful saturday evening. Secondly, a trip to the vintage transport day which coincided with the 'Quad-Art' week. This gave me an opportunity to finally capture shots of the J15 on the quads, after many years of trying! Thirdly, an evening diner with George Stephenson providing the motive power. Thanks as always to the crews, and patrons of the evening services that enable trains to run outside of normal operating hours
Saturday 5th June The first day of the second NNR 'Mixed Traction' weekend. The day started brightly, but the risk of cloud coming in was never far away. Steam in action was 44767 George Stephenson on its second visit to the railway alongside the J15 and N7. Diesel Power was represented by the LEV, newly outshopped in smart BR Green DMU and the two mainline diesels, Class' 31 and 25 I can offer little apology for the slight change of livery on the photograph of Goerge Stephenson going over Bridge 303, to remove the Maroon TSO from the front of the set
Saturday 18th April A glorious day for the NNR's now annual Vintage Bus Weekend. This was particuarly notable for the debut of the Leyland Experinmental Vehicle, the recepiant of much hard work in the sheds over recent years. Also running was 31207, 5619 and the stalwart Railbus

Friday + Saturday 12th / 13th March Following the successful crossing opening, a gala was held to commemorate this. With much cloudy weather, I took the opportunity to spend time looking for more unusual locations, many not possible on sunny days. N2 1744 was once again visiting from the GCR, alongside 56xx 5619 on long term loan from the Telford Railway, alongside regulars 69621, 65462 and 1982.

Thursday 11th March After 40 years, many false dawns and dead ends, the North Norfolk Railway is finally reconnected to the national network again. A testament to what can happen with a volunteer led project, as well as to the visions of both Steve Ashling and Bob Wright. Radio Norfolk estimated 4000 people attended - this can't have been far wrong. Every vantage point was filled, and due to sheer volume of traffic, the A149 crawled along at 15 MPH! I have never seen so many people on the lineside of any railway, with many just happy to watch and wave at the trains. Whilst there won't be any days as big as this, long may the crossing see the use that the efforts to build it deserve.

New Years Day A last-minute decision to visit the NNR paid dividends. Despite feeling slightly the worse for wear, the promise of a thick-ish frost, which on arrival turned to bright sunlight made the journey worthwhile. With thanks to Ray Webb and Owen Bushell for driving the train, and in particular to Owen for managaing to get his face in so many pictures at the railway. A New Years Resolution? Also uploaded are some photos taken across the Santa Specials, and the 03-Hauled trains that occured on 12th December.
