North Norfolk Railway Photos 2009.
2009 1940's Weekend
Hot on the heels of the successful steam gala, comes another weekend of intensive running, with four locomotives operating a half-hourly service. Perhaps a sign of the developments on the Railway is how this timetable comfortably suppased what for many years was used as the Steam Gala timetable! On Saturday I was confined to the Guards Van on the Quad-Art set behind the N2, but made the most of the final opportunity for the time being to get photos of it on the Quad rake. 'More than worth the Effort!' Next Weekend, off to see the Flying Pig in steam, followed by yet another intensive NNR weekend...

2009 September Steam Gala Another September Steam Gala, with it's usual combination of long days, intensive running and good company. The star of the show was undoubtedly the newly restored N2 1744 when paired with the Gresley Quad-Art Coaches. On Friday Night the opportunity was taken by myself and Owen Bushell to run a photographic evening for the 'dub-dee club.' It was certainly a learning experience in this type of event! As ever, thanks to all who took part in the event, especially those in the overnight roles in the shed, Linda for lovely breakfasts when enthusiasm was flaggin, and Mark for somehow managing to concoct another successful event.

May 2009 Update

A mixture of computer problems and very little spare time has led me unable to update this website of late.
Here are pictures taken across three running days in May; The 23rd, 25th and 30th of the month.
Stay tuned for photographs from the GCR 40th Anniversary event, as well as the N7's trip to the MNR railway.

Saturday 11th April

Easter saw a return to the Red Timetable. A misty day, that saw the sun try hard to come through the clouds but never quite make it, so called it a day at lunchtime.
WD 90775 and L&Y 1300 were the motive power. Possibly more tomorrow, followed by a trip to the Great Central Railway on Monday, to see the N7, alongside up to four other tank engines.
Also included is a picture of the 4F on Sunday 15th March at Bridge 303, the only time I saw this loco in full sunlight.

Not as busy, but every bit as good as the first weekend. This gala has truely raised the bar that NNR gala's have to aspire too!
Due to my usual commitments, i missed most of the beautiful sun on Sunday morning. None-the-less, i'm sure the usual suspects will take great delight in reminding me of this!

A good crowd gathered in Melton to witness the 4F no. 44222 stop off en-route to Sheringham for the 'Thats yer Lot!' gala at the end of the month.
The engine arrived approximately 50 minutes late, but some good publicity was afforded to the railway, with local media in attendance.
