North Norfolk Railway Photos 2007.
December 2007

A bit of a 'backlog' of images from the past few months here: Firstly, the final day of Yellow season running back on October 27th

Having now obtained a car, i have also been able to come and see the Santa Specials in some unique lighting this year.

On the 22nd of December, Tangmere came into Norwich on a Cathedral Express' service from London.

Finally, some pictures from today, the 28th December and a Mince Pie Special, once again featuring the WD

May i conclude by wishing all my viewers a (belated) happy Christmas, and prosperous new year.
I have some more photos from earlier in the year that might be uploaded before the end of the festive season

2007 Steam Gala (Friday + Saturday)

A very successful gala featuring all the railways operational motive power.
Unfortunatly, 34057 failed on Friday Afternoon, leading to a minor timetable collapse, but did give an untimetabled 9F + J15 double header, which looked very attractive
Congratulations to all involved, especially Mark for the timetable and all the catering staff for keeping stomachs well and truely filled!

Monday 27th August Back again, the continuing good weather allied with a special timetable made another enjoyable day on the NNR. The Service trains today were operated by 90775 and the Visiting 56XX 5643, with Black Prince operating some Sheringham - Weybourne specials inbetween.

Sunday 26th August David Sheppard's 9F 92203 'Black Prince' has been visiting the NNR for the past week or so, and will be the star attraction at the main steam gala next weekend. Today the crew of both Black Prince and the resident 2-10-0 90775 (back after a long absence) provided some splendid running in perfect photographic conditions. Also, i have finally uploaded the pictures of my time on the NYMR, which can be found here

Sunday 12th August I have spent the past week on Holiday in Yorkshire, in a delightful property which overlooked the Moors Line near Levisham. The undoubted highlight of this was riding behind 60007 Sir Nigel Gresley, on the teak set from a standing start on the 1 in 49 with no sliip, but a real cacophony of noise, bouncing around the valley! i have some video of this i will hopefully upload shortly. Pictures on my Moors page The NNR's seeming mission to run all surving 56xx's is continuing apace, with the Furness Trusts example, No. 5643 visting for the next month, including the steam gala. Anyone would think the GM had an affinity with these locomotives! It was running today, along with 92 Squadron, which is shortly to be renamed Biggin Hill, with the number 34057.

Friday 29th / Saturday 30th June ' The Steam Dream' Finally it happened! the N7, J15 and B12 (sort of) all running together at the same time. Whilst the weather on Saturday was very eclectic, Friday evening was thoroughly beautiful. On friday evening i was lucky enough to be invited on a photo shoot by Steve Allen, so a big thanks to him for organising the shoot. Some very spirited running again by the crews on saturday, so a thanks to them as well

Saturday 26th May 2007. An overcast day, with a couple of light showers amounting to nothing more thankfully. Good running once more by both crews, especially with the tricky exit of Weybourne with a bulleid on wet rails!

Monday 7th May 2007. What a diffrence a weekend makes. Following last weekends, sunshine the bank holiday was beset by overcast conditions. Still, took the chance and glad i did. Just a pity about large amounts of steam leaking out of the Bulleid during the earlier part of the day leading to many 'ghost' shots Also, i have included a picture of Tangmere leaving Norwich on Saturday Morning, a late replacement for 4771 Green Arrow, which has failed its yearly boiler exam. Thanks to the crews today, and good to see so many people about

Sunday 29th April 2007. The NNR has a vistor for the next couple of weekends, one of my favourite locos, 56xx 6619 from the NYMR, in return for the N7 featuring in their 'east coast main line gala.' This, combined with good weather and a sunday off, led to an unmissable opportunity to photograph her on a rare visit away from the NYMR. There was also a double header on the 11.15 from Holt, with 65462 moving to Sheringham in preperation for her visit to kent. This certainly caught me by surprise. I have little doubt there will be more next weekend, alongside Tangmere running out of Norwich on the mainline.

Easter Weekend

Superb running over the easter weekend, with the J15 and B12 back in steam - what a sight she makes! a tribute to all who worked on her.
I'm in the process of moving over to new web hosting, after continued problems with my old supplier. So far, the easter photos are on the new site,
with more moving over in the near future.

New Year Winter Mini Steam Gala

The now traditional new year gala saw the J15 and N7 in steam.
Unfortunatly the B12 couldn't make the gala, but there was still good running by the crews across the 3 days
I will hope to upload a few videos in the next few days so stay tuned
